German EV vehicle-tax exemption extended
Pure EVs first registered by the end of 2030 may qualify for up to ten years, capped at the end of 2035.

What happened?
The exemption was extended to pure EVs first registered or converted by 31 December 2030. It can run for ten years, but no later than 31 December 2035.
Why it matters
Check the actual registration date and vehicle to determine whether and how long the exemption applies.
Which decisions may be affected?
An EV TCO comparison should not assume identical vehicle tax for both drivetrains by default.
